About Doctor Curioso

obsessed with puzzles, language and learning

Author Bio

As a kid, he asked “why” so often that classmates nicknamed him Doctor Curioso. He never stopped asking.

That curiosity led him to learn three languages, spend decades creating educational content, and raise two kids who grew up solving puzzles at the breakfast table. When they got older, he missed those word game mornings more than he expected.

Now in his sixties—white hair, full moustache, always wearing a tie—Doctor Curioso created his first puzzle book for Hispanic children learning English in the US. Why? Because words are superpowers. They help kids define who they are, connect with others, and open doors to bigger futures.

His word search puzzles do something clever: kids translate Spanish words to English, solve riddles, and crack adivinanzas. The unused letters? They spell out traditional Spanish proverbs about family, friendship, and perseverance—cultural wisdom wrapped in a game.

Personal Life

Doctor Curioso still has a messy desk covered in dictionaries and colored pencils. He still listens to podcasts about everything. And he still believes the best way to learn anything is to have fun while doing it.

This book is proof.

“Puzzling is discovering.”
